In the past decade numerous banks have attempted to use videoconferencing as a tool for connecting customers with either customer service or product sales groups. These efforts focused on two types of issues; technical and business model. ZIBEX has worked with 14 banks over the past four years on various pilot projects attempting to solve one or both of these issues. During this time period technology advances have enabled ZIBEX to help client banks resolve the major technical issues. The business model issues are the next hurdle.

In the past, video pilots were put in place as "technical showcases" aimed at experimenting with the future or as "alternative distribution" aimed at creating more points of sale with lower costs than the traditional "brick and mortar" branch.

The holy grail, which has yet to be realized, is an "enterprise wide" solution integrating CRM applications supported by real time video over IP into all delivery channels creating instant access to every bank expertise. The paradox of creating superior customer experiences and dramatically lowering costs is the transformation challenge facing every bank.

Below are the banks who have contributed valuable knowledge to this industry journey.
